Today we discussed our findings from yesterday's activity (part 3 of SDRO Handout 9). Then, we made our argument as to if the Fast Plant is a monocot or a dicot. Here's what you need to do:

1. Check your answers to part 2 of SDRO Handout 9 using my answer key below. This will be uploaded at the end of the day.
2. Download SDRO Handout 9 Addendum Part 2 and add it to SDRO Handout 9 in Notability.
3. Complete page 13 of SDRO Handout 9. I will post pictures of the roots and stem here at the end of the day.
4. Complete tonight's homework (Fast Plant reflection).

Absent Students
Today we explored the differences between flowering plants. In previous classification systems, flowering plants (called angiosperms) were classified into two groups: monocots and dicots. Each group has certain features that separate it from the other group. Here's what you need to do:

1. Download today's procedure, SDRO Handout 9, and the handout resource.
2. Read through the procedure. Instead of completing part 1 of the handout as stations, you will do this on your own using the handout resource.
3. For the seeds, the monocot seed is the corn, the dicot seed is the bean. The bean should have a seed coat label, but it is not included.

On Tuesday and Wednesday we worked on the cabbage white butterfly portion of our projects. I posted two readings on the project page for you to review. I also posted larva data Mr. Harper collected and shared with us. Here's what you need to do:

1. Download the procedure sheet (see below).
2. Read and annotate the readings on the project page under the Cabbage White Butterfly section. This includes the Cabbage White Butterfly Life Cycle reading and the Cabbage White Butterfly Information reading.
3. Respond to the questions on the procedure sheet regarding the readings.
4. Contact your group and share what you have done. Ask if there is anything you can help them with.

Today we looked at our week ahead to see what we need to get done by Friday's project deadline. We began focusing on the life cycle of the Fast Plant today. To help with this we read pp. 36-39 in the SDRO textbook and reviewed a diagram showing how the Fast Plant has changed over time. Then, we took final pictures of our Fast Plants and removed seeds from the pods. Finally, we had time to work on the script for this portion of the project. Here's what you need to do:

1. Read pp. 36-39 in the SDRO textbook. This is available on the SDRO Project page. The file is called plant_life_cycle.pdf.
2. Review the diagram (PDF is just below the reading on the project page).
3. Contact your group and see what you can do to help you.

Today we moved from photosynthesis to cellular respiration. These two processes are closely linked to each other as the products of one are the reactants of the other. Here's what you need to do:
